Octapoda participated in Microscale Ocean Meeting 7.0 in Australia last May. The meeting is held every two years, bringing together around seventy scientists to discuss and research the biophysics of microscale marine processes. Ingibjörg Björgvinsdóttir, a PhD student and the CEO of Octapoda, presented an information poster at the meeting showing the distribution of carbon particles at depths of up to 250 meters across various locations in Japan, particularly where the influence of the Kuroshio warm current is most prominent. The conference provided an opportunity to learn about new developments in camera systems and to connect with leading scientists in camera systems and carbon research from around the world. Additionally, Octapoda's CTO, Kristinn Sigurðsson, had the opportunity to examine technical implementations of camera systems and receive advice on the setup of Octapoda's new camera system, which will be operational soon.

Octapoda tók þátt í Microscale Ocean Meeting 7.0 í Ástralíu í maí síðastliðnum. Fundurinn er haldinn annað hvert ár og þar koma um sjötíu vísindamenn saman til að ræða og rannsaka lífeðlisfræði í smærri sjávarferlum. Ingibjörg Björgvinsdóttir, doktorsnemi og framkvæmdarstjóri Octapoda sýndi á fundinum upplýsingaplagat sem sýnir dreifingu kolefnisagna á allt að 250 m dýpi víðsvegar um Japan eða á þeim stöðum þar sem áhrif Kuroshia hlýsjávarstraumsins er mest áberandi. Hún sýndi áhugaverðar niðurstöður um dreifingu kolefnis á straummótum (e. oceanics fronts). Á ráðstefnunni gafst tækifæri til að kynnast nýjungum í myndavélakerfum og tengjast vísindafólki víðs vegar um heiminn sem standa framarlega í myndavélakerfum og kolefnisrannsóknum. Einnig fékk CTO Octapoda, Kristinn Sigurðsson tækifæri til að skoða tæknilegar útfærslur á myndavélakerfum og fá ráðleggingar í uppsetningu á nýju myndavélakerfi Octapoda sem verður tekið í gagnið bráðlega.
